what?

sorry, didnt like it much.

firstly, everything was done in a very south-park-ish style, which is only okay when you include tons of swearing, which you didnt, considering there were only about five words spoken in the entire movie.

OKAY. flaws. The people didnt move, the text was way to small, I think it would have been more interesting if you had an unrelated voice say everything that was at the bottom of the screen, um. yeah. When the guy went to the girls house, the mouth movements werent amazing, the audio wasnt great, and how would he even know where she lived?! (stalker)

Afterwards, when he was sitting on the bench, having a red haired girl come over with a note was kinda weird, like, seriously, when your standing next to the person, you dont give them a note. kinda pointless? yes. Also about that scene, the position his hand was in wouldn't really have lent itself to holding a cigarette, it looked as though it was just kinda propped above his hand on some random layer in flash. The whole plot twist with him having chased chased the wrong girl was really confusing, especially since she never would have still recognized him. The whole having his friends come along with him to england seemed pretty... forced... because they didnt appear again after that. Also, why was the red headed chick in england anyways?? Very strange. After I was suitably confused by all that, some random stranger came along and shot the guy's head. WTF? Why?

The advice I give you is this: develop your characters more! without any personality, the whole plot goes to waste, and its not very interesting at all for your audience. Other people may have enjoyed it enough to get it the daily feature, but in my opinion, this wasnt worth it.

Thanks,

19 chapters?!

I cant wait! The graphical quality was amazing, voices were fantastic, plot seems really good, reminds me of that book about the tripods, really fantastic stuff you have going here. Theres really not much to say, perfect job!

this movie got a four from me, would have been a three if not for the dreary ending, that made me sad. before I continue to review, I read through your response to thakillah's review, and just wanted to point out to you that the idea of "responses is not so that you can review the review (as you did) but to accept what the viewer thought of the movie, and if you have further questions about their intent, to ask them to PM you with advice on how to make the film better.

the sound was pretty good, appropriate, and it seemed as though you spent time looking at different songs to see what would fit right. However, it bugged me that when he was smashing the lock with his gun no sound came out, as with when the lock fell and bounced on the ground.

Now, the plot of this movie was somewhat lacking in parts, for example, why did the person at the door kill the other guy? why was the girl locked in a cabinet? (I know it explains in your 'authors comments', but even then it didnt seem as though the two in the house were enemies, it just seemed as though the woman was mad that adam shot her friend. )which was a bit confusing, but I got the idea that once the girl and the guy died they were happy in "happy river".

The frame by frame animation at the beginning wasnt bad, but when the person *adam* was walking towards the locked cabinet with the camera angle on the side, it was pretty bad. especially how his shoulders moved and how they were connected to his body. the mouth on the girl when she was about to be shot was pretty clearly a very simple motion tween, and when te woman was holding the shotgun and the camera was staring down the barrels, I was honestly confused at what she was holding.
the ideas behind it sort of won out over all, but the animation could definitely be improved upon. Oh! just remembered, the way you had it zoom in from (I think it was) the girls whole body to just her eye was really nice, but it was ruined *in my opinion* by the recycled eye movieclip or graphic. well, you know, the eye sequence where it cryed. Lastly on the animation note, Adam looked very different from the side than he did from the front, almost so much you couldnt tell it was him.

The menu was nice, I appreciate when people take the time to do something interesting with the preloader, as well as add a scene selection thing, which adds points to the scorre just for general niceness. Again, the complicated plot structure and the ideas won out, but the graphics could really be improved. I gave it 4/5, but now if I could go back, I'd probably give it like, a two or a three.

by the way, if you feel that anything I've said is rude or unfair in any way, feel free to badmouth any of my submissions in response. ;)

this made my day happy.

I found this totally hilarious because I still havent quite figured out why that song is at the top of the itunes charts. Seeing a monkey rap the (ridiculous) lyrics "im hot cause Im fly, you aint cause you not" is just... really funny. great job!

sorry if you actually really respect mims and I've made you sad :(

ZeroMega responds:

Someone told me I should make monkeys sing to Mims, I didn't really want to but it worked pretty good lol

Line Rider!

you stole that last bit from that game line rider! just for that, you get an 8. If you arent sure what line rider is, google it.

I dunno, the movie was okay, the graphics were pretty average and the idea is totally overdone tho. Just a few weeks ago jimtopia did NG in december, which was almost the exact same as this, and you really needed a better font when he was shooting the numbers and stuff. I retract that, you dont get an 8. still, not bad, just try something new!

Congrats!

Great job on getting the daily fifth! It truly is nice to see one of your animations get an award, especially one with a heartfelt memory at the end. That was a nice touch. Story was great, I loved the mysterious shadow of Tom Fulp near the end, and the graphics were nice as well. In most of the newgrounds portal animations, the portal is like, this massive space vortex kinda thing or like in mother of all blams, a borderline. I like your presentation the best.

good job, 4/5, 9/10 (submitted it to christmas as well)

Jimtopia responds:

Ah, well thx a ton. I thought my representation of "The Portal" was most fitting too, glad you noticed. Yes, I actually thought of making Tom a shadowy figure right as I was making the scene, I had no previous ideas of what to make him. Thx for submitting to x-mas, I really hope I can get into the contest and do well. Thx again.

Yay! That was reall cool!

Despite totally not understanding any deeper meaning it might have had, I thouroghly loved this animation! Yeah, your box character was fantastic, I loved how his face bounced with the rest of his body. Very nicely done. My fave of your stuff, and of everything in general.

good first submission

you can really draw, I like that. Maybe in future animations try to build your awesome art into a more interesting or thought out storyline, but whatever, it was cool. the music was nice as well.

Happy Halloween!

Wow, seriously, it seems as though you guys can do nothing wrong. The animation was excellent, well written as usual, and.... yeah. Lots of humor as well. I liked the bit at the beginning when they were pushing the doorbell.

A perfect score. Happy halloween!
