fantastic!

(as always)

nah, neil this is really a gem. I'm sorry to have just caught it now more than a month later, but either way it really is nice. lovely classical animation and characters.

TheBoogley responds:

Thanks mate, I'm glad you liked it :)
can't wait to see the typography collab

great

really cool morphing on your characters.
it was smooth and natural which was amazing. the fast (im guessing like 24/30fps) loops on the characters also went nicely.. usually I prefer 12s for those because personally my line consistency isn't fantastic, but yours is great. so good work bud. :)

Jaime-R responds:

Wicked! Thanks, yo :D

The opening was fantastic!

yeah, that first person was really really nice. I loved it.
all of the animation was pretty good but it wasn't REALLY about parkour as much as like, scenes of stick figures. :P

parkour has to be urban! you've got to use the city features you happen to encounter, not things from a perfectly formed simulation stick figure building.

still, the animation was great, congrats on a good collab.

Fizzled responds:

thanks man :) about the realism, i mean come on. THEIR STICK FIGURES :D

motion guides are actually useful if you do it right. :P mostly its for adding an arch to tweens. so the object doesn't just go straight :)

funny cartoon. at first I was like, damn I hate jimtopia, none of it is animated and its all tweens >:( but then it got really funny and enjoyable and you managed to use that basic animation stuff as part of the story.

so it was really good. you've definitely got writing skills, thats for sure.

if you want something to work on, try some frame by frame animation. most of your stuff is tweened, and its good to know both pretty well.

Jimtopia responds:

You hated me!? T_T

Pretty similar to the other stuff

Born to byte, your section didn't really seem any different than the other thing I reviewed, or the Beep Beep thing. Its almost as if you've taken all the same symbols and changed the rhythm slightly to match the song. still fun to watch, but you could probably do more.

Lazy Apples, I haven't seen any other stuff from you, it seemed good. similar to B2b's as well though. good job lipsyncing, it was pretty cool. some of the syncing was off in places but for the majority it was clean.

Rutger responds:

I'm gonna change, I'm fucking pissed and bored and fucked up and all that shizzle of the complains about that I copied someone's style, or that I'm repeating myself.

not bad

a lot of the stuff I had seen in beep beep already, so it wasn't entirely interesting, but I still fived it because I liked it for the most part.

here's some advice:
when you're animating to music, its totally fun and great to just mess around like you were with no story, but when the only movement happens on the main beats, it starts to seem storyboardy, and a storyboard with no story is kind of pointless!

I like animation/animating without a story, but Im finding more and more that its important to people and that I feel happier making things that have stories that are also animated to my level of quality. you may not feel the same way, but you might some day. thats not so important.

the main thing is that actions shouldnt just happen on the main beat (or bing, haha), its generally more enjoyable when movement is a relatively constant element, and important movements happen on the main beat. then its like, 'OH MAN LOOK HOW AWESOME BORNTOBYTE IS AT SYNCING!' right now its pretty good but it could be a lot better with more movement.

lol, I know that lots of movement is harder to animate though too, which is Im sure one of the reasons you kept this pretty simple. your frame by frame is fun and light, and it would definitely be overwhelming to animate something of that length with like, 2000 unique frames.

keep it up, you seem to be improving nicely.

Rutger responds:

Thanks man, I'll remember these tips!

cool stuff, its a neat style and the story was cool. I liked your characters. some good oldschool stuff in there too, with the eyes, and the hand changing position and what not.

lmao, nice song too. seemed to fit nicely.

jakeganz responds:

:) !

lmao

thats right, why bother with a really amazing, well organized collab with amazing authors backing it when you can do something ALONG THE SAME LINES in two hours? hahaha.

this was pretty not bad for a two hour collab. lots of traced dad'n'me stuff to look at. nick's madness part was pretty cool. I like how pixel madness looks. but the last part with alien hominid shooting chocolate guy and then bursting from that guy from blockhead's chest really takes the cake. amazing.

don't you think you're kind of milking it now rudy? I mean, you are making a full out newgrounds collab, and you've done a whole bunch of these time trials now, so what was the point of this one?

also, I remember you complaining about fishhook making a whole bunch of black and white collabs, but you're time trial collection list is almost just as long! ;)

Moro

Rudy responds:

Ahaha, yeah I am milking the cow on this one. I usually never really saw this collection of time trials going so far, I was going to stop at 3, now look at us -- we're at 7, but whatever. I'll make a last one sooner or later. I am continuing the NG collab though, I just wanted to make something tiny at the moment ;)

Yayz!

Nice work twins!

I think you guys are probably the most talented twins on NG, and that's saying something! I really liked this a lot, all of the bits were well done, I liked the one about lions and the last one with the guy laughing, those two were especially awesome. :)

The one thing I thought could have been better were the transitions, the 'twin bits' text against black. The font wasn't very interesting and the text movement didn't change much, so that was the only thing I thought could have been done better, but other than that, great work, really funny and nice!

Moro

TommyVF responds:

Thanks for the long review! :D

Cool that you liked the lion thing, we thought that was quite funny, too... :P
Yeah, the transitions. We wanted to "follow the rules" of the Tidbits, so we made it as simple as possible. At least we got some animation in some of the transitions. :)

Thank you!

>TM.

SUPER PERFECT

and underated, the quality to this is overwhelming.

BillSkelton responds:

That is exactly how I feel. I thought this was the highest standard I have animated too yet it recieved one of the worst scores I have gotten. Oh well, donkey boner.
